Mind Muscle Connection

Today lets look at something that is key to training when you in the gym lifting weights and that is mind muscle connection. Basically mind muscle connection is putting your attention on the muscle you are working on and making sure that you feel the burn and tension on the muscle your building.
With this in mind we all have different body types and structures therefore not all exercises will enable you feel the tension within the muscles your trying to grow. For instance when doing calve raises i feel the burn and muscle tension done when i try to do a deep squat which tends to put pressure on my joints than rather working the actual leg muscles, now do note that this my experience for someone else squats work perfect for the person and that is okay.
Another key to this is focusing on form and using a weight you can handle. Now there is no point in picking up a heavy weight and swinging it about to look impressive for people around you because at the end of the day your cheating yourself and are not building any muscle at all, what you are doing instead with the heavy weight is tiring your joints.Remember your body does not know if it is lifting 20kg dumbbell or 50kg dumbbell all it know is that your lifting something and that something is causing it to feel tension if the tension or stress is too much for it breaks down and rebuilds itself to be stronger to handle that sort of load the next time.

MUSCLE RECOVERY

When we go to the gym and lift those heavy weights we are actually tearing and breaking our muscles down. The growth of muscles happens when your are resting and recovering.
Now when you rest you must give your body the necessary raw materials to engage in the repair and rebuild process. So after your workout you should be getting in your protein and carbs.
Protein is core to building muscle and without protein you would have total muscle collapse.
You also need to get in your amino acids such as glutamine, gluatamine is great as it helps the body to recover but did you know that 60% of your muscle is made up of glutamine and glutamine also helps your immune systems white blood cells. Another aspect of recovery is getting quality sleep and trying to reduce your stress levels as much as possible. Oh and on last thing do not train your muscles to the point where you feel the soreness and pain for days other wise you body will use all its resources to repair and restore the muscle but you it will not build additional muscle mass.
